Dutch Colonial

This project centered around a young family—husband, wife, and their two children—settling into their first home, a charming 1920s Dutch Colonial. Their vision was to create
a space that felt warm, welcoming, and full of personality—something vibrant enough to reflect their lively family dynamic, yet versatile and comfortable for everyday life and frequent entertaining. They desired an environment that balanced functionality with a playful, colorful aesthetic. My goal was
to bring that vision to life while honoring the historical charm of their home.

Following an in-home consultation, I recreated the layout
of their home in Floorplanner to explore and visualize possibilities. I developed multiple floor plan options for the entryway and living room, carefully considering flow, function, and family needs. The furnishings I selected were chosen not only for comfort and durability but also for their ability to complement the home’s original architectural details. Through thoughtful layering of color, texture, and form, the final design captures the joyful spirit of the family—inviting guests in with
a sense of warmth and energy, and setting the stage for countless memories made together.
