The original room was weighed down by aging, traditional furniture with rolled arms throughout, underscaled artwork, and no rug to ground the rich cherry flooring. I reimagined the layout with a soft, dusty brown slope-arm sofa accented by crisp, geometric pillows, paired with a bright neutral rug that adds subtle texture while significantly lightening and softening the space. Seating was thoughtfully updated with a mix of forms, including a custom rolled-arm chair in a refined herringbone and a sculptural high-back chair in a light geometric fabric, creating visual interest without overwhelming the room. Layered tables in mixed materials, updated lighting, and reflective accents help bounce natural light from the French doors, while larger-scale artwork and mirrors bring cohesion and proper scale to the walls.
