Living Room Refresh
This living room transformation focused on lifting a once dark, heavy space into something lighter, more balanced, and inviting. The original room was weighed down by aging, traditional furniture with rolled arms throughout, underscaled artwork, and no rug to ground the rich cherry flooring. I reimagined the layout with a soft, dusty brown slope-arm sofa accented by crisp, geometric pillows, paired with a bright neutral rug that adds subtle texture while significantly lightening and softening the space. Seating was thoughtfully updated with a mix of forms, including a custom rolled-arm chair in a refined herringbone and a sculptural high-back chair in a light geometric fabric, creating visual interest without overwhelming the room. Layered tables in mixed materials, updated lighting, and reflective accents help bounce natural light from the French doors, while larger-scale artwork and mirrors bring cohesion and proper scale to the walls. The result is a refreshed, functional living room that feels elevated, comfortable, and timeless.
